PulseNet Global Salmonella Typhi Database

Using the International PulseNet network, a Global PulseNet Salmonella Typhi Database was established in 2006. All PulseNet participants worldwide are invited to participate in this project.

The goals of the project are:

To improve global surveillance of typhoid fever by creating a library of PFGE-and antimicrobial resistance profiles of human S. Typhi strains of diverse geographic origins
To stimulate research in the epidemiology of S. Typhi at the local and global levels
To encourage networking
